Giving Back

On May 18th, 2017, five years to the day that God gave me the vision for The Good News Retreat Center, I was traveling to SC for a family event. The next day is when I met Lucille who is my grandmother's best friend. They had met in Girard, Ohio when they were just kids and have been best friends ever since. Lucille is now 99 years old and lives in North Carolina not far from Charlotte. As we talked I told her about the vision God had given me on May 18th, 2012 for the pastoral retreat center. Lucille responded that I was scaring her… I asked why. Lucille explained to me that 10 months ago God woke her from a dream and she sat straight up in her bed. God had told Lucille that her 300 acre property is to go to a retreat center. As we shared more on our next visit the following week Lucille was excited about the fact that her property could go to such a tremendous cause as she had expressed an earnest desire for her property to go to The Good News Retreat Center. Lucille’s property has nearly 300 wooded acres and boasts a 5 acre lake, rolling hills and all nestled on the cusp of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This property combined with God’s vision is Psalm 23:1-4 come to life. Did I mention that Lucille’s two grandfathers were pastors?
